Mariemont Friday Night Kids (FNK)"T-Ball" is for boys and girls in Kindergarten and Pre-School. The purpose of the program is to have fun, teach children the fundamentals of T-Ball/baseball and model good sportsmanship. These children represent the future of our baseball and softball teams. We want this to be a positive experience for everyone.
The 2018 Spring Program starts on Friday, April 19th and continues through Friday, June 7th - 8 nights of "T-Ball". Each session lasts one hour - 6:30-7:30.
Each child is expected to bring a glove. We furnish a T-Shirt and Hat for each player. We also provide bases, balls, bats and batting "T's".
There are normally six(6) teams. The first 30 minutes is dedicated to simple throwing, catching and hitting practice, with three teams on the three fields and three team on the grass. The final 30 minutes us dedicated to playing games on the three playing fields, with emphasis on running the bases and making fielding plays.
We expect several coaches for each team and one head coach. The head coach is responsible for: 1) calling parents and advising them of the schedule and equipment needs, 2) soliciting other coaches, 3) preparing the first 30 minutes of each session, and 4) assigning parents each Friday to bring drinks for post-game celebration.
Safety is an important priority. Each team is expected to assign one parent as a "safety director", primarily responsible for handling the bats and ensuring children are playing in an safe manner.
The program fee is $35.00 per player. The fee funds shirts, hats, trophy and equipment expenses.
